sooo....i have an idea

Little black dress? great idea! every womans wardrobe essential! But...finding the perfect LBD for one woman may not be the right LBD for another woman. A collection of LBD's for all the shapes and sizes. Hourglass, pear, apple, boyish, top heavy? whatever your shape there should be an LBD for all.

Summer Goings On!

For the summer project I've been given the wonderful job of looking at Women's Sports Fashion. You detect my sarcasm? Yes I admit I am not a fan of Sports fashion, however I feel after some research I have found my interest in the area... Sports Luxe. Why should sports wear be something only to be seen in the gym?

I want to use this type of sportswear as my inspiration, looking at loose slouchy silhouettes as well as experimenting with layering and tighter sillhouettes such as leggings. The fabrics I have been looking at have been jersey, sweat shirt, breathables. However I want to look at more luxurious fabrics such as leathers and silks to create a more expensive sporting look.

Inspiration

After been given the starting point of artificial I decided to go to the Damien Hirst exhibition and it was this which has given me my main inspiration. The way in which he takes the most natural things such as animals and the human body and colours them and changes their surroundings has inspired me within the artificial concept. Within the sports luxe trend I am going to take my inspiration down a slightly darker route, however using the tripped out colourings of the spring/summer 2012 trend.

End of Year Shows at Uni

I went to view all the 3rd year shows at uni once i'd got all my own work out of the work...heres a selection of my favourite stuff...

I love the vintage feel in this piece relating to the war, i think it's very "there's no place like home" type thing.

This is all from printed textiles, I was most drawn to the things that looked either really bright that could be used in fashion design or the things that looked vintage i loved the piece that related to the war and 1940s i thought it was beautiful.

These images are taken from the fashion department, I loved quite a few of the collections on show my favourite piece though is in the above image i love how leather has been mixed with soft colours it was the collection i was automatically drawn to in terms of my own style.

Looking at the 3rd year collections has made me think about my own collection and although its not for another two years i cant waittttt =D

A little home project =D

A friend asked me to make them a dress for their graduation ball...so I did. To be honest I'm pretty pleased with the results i asked her what she wanted took her measures made the pattern and hey presto =D

Performative Geometrics

Range Plan Look Book pages.

Swing Ticket - to be folded in to a cube.

Final Prototype Garment
My concept for this was to have a multifunctional garment while using the inspiration of performative geometrics. My inspiration comes mainly from nets for shapes which I have used in the pattern for the final production of my garment, I also wanted to use bright colours to reflect geometrics too. The multifunctional element is the pocket in which the dress can be folded into to become a bag.

Performative Geometrics

Shape, looked at graphic designers for inspiration aswell as photographers (mainly fashion), 3D design and fashion.

geometric print

shape used to create geometrics, this is what I want to acheive in my own work.

I've been looking at nets in order to see if I can develop a dress pattern from them.
