When doing the research for the shop report it brought to my attention just how poor the quality of clothes on the high street are, although this may have been because I started in Harvey Nicks.
I've looked at designer clothing before, however, looking more closely i realised just how the garments are finished to absolute perfection and how amazing the fabrics are. Not only the quality of the fabrics but how light weight they are too. The shopping experience is to make you feel special and valued as a customer, there was little out on display to give the feel of exclusivity. Where as, in the high street in shops such as Primark and H&M the products were rammed out trying to get as much out as possible in the name of "fast-fashion".

Drawing Elective!
The drawing elective was not an altogether enjoyable experience...however...once I found what it was I liked about drawing I found it easier to take in my own direction...People watching!

Drapey Drapey!
Creative Approaches to Fashion!
I used gathering and pleating to interpret his work and get inspiration. I used light weight fabrics to cause a draping effect.
Here are some of my experimentations. =]
The artist I chose as my inspiration was Thomas Heatherwick, an architect. I was drawn to his work as I could imagine transforming his architecture into clothing, I'm quite literal so the ideas i had from his architecture I could experiment with easily.
